In the news, the Fairhaven School whānau in Te Puke are pulling together for a movie night fundraiser to support local mum Sarena Crane as she undergoes cancer treatment. Big hearted mahi from the whole community.

Te Puke School Hosts Movie Night for Local Mum’s Cancer Treatment

A heartfelt community effort is underway in Te Puke, where Fairhaven School is rallying to support one of their own. Sarena Crane, a local mum battling terminal bowel cancer, is hoping to access life-extending treatment in Mexico—and the school whānau is stepping in to help.

Friends, teachers, and parents are throwing a massive movie night fundraiser on Friday, April 5 at Fairhaven School.
The Goal: raise as much as possible toward the estimated $150,000 needed to cover Sarena’s treatment and support her whānau.

  • Movie: Space Jam kicks off at 7pm

  • Bring a koha (donation)

  • Sausage sizzle, bake sale, food trucks

  • Glow sticks, silent auction, and popcorn

Even 8-year-old Eden Best is pitching in—designing and selling T-shirts to raise funds for her best friend Esmae’s mum. She’s raised $350 already and will be taking pre-orders on the night.

LSKD Is Coming to The Mount!!

One of Australasia’s fastest-growing activewear brands is about to land in the Bay. LSKD (short for “Loose Kid”) is opening its third New Zealand store—this time at Bayfair in Mount Maunganui.

Founded by Jason Daniel, the high-performance sportswear label has already built a loyal Kiwi following, racking up over $10 million in online sales and drawing crowds of 900+ to its Christchurch opening earlier this month.
